Welcome to the City of Hayden's Street Department.  Hayden's Streets Division is a close-knit crew of 4 full time and 2 seasonal workers headed by Crew Maintenance Leader, Kevin Selzler.  The Streets Division is responsible for maintenance of over 170 lane miles of paved roads.  The Streets Crew maintains Hayden's traffic signals; administers the sign retro-reflectivity management program; conducts street light maintenance; implements noxious weed control measures (conducted in conjunction with Parks Division); oversees the drainage maintenance program; applies and maintains traffic markings on lane miles, crosswalks, bike lanes, school crossings, and directional symbols; and provides data for traffic counts, studies and traffic control plan reviews.

The Streets Division provides street sweeping services on all City roads between April 1st and October 1st annually.

Due to its relatively small numbers, the Streets Division restricts its paving to crack sealing and deep patch operations.  Other major paving operations are effected through contracts with private firms.

During the winter months, the Streets Division conducts snow and ice removal operations.   It takes the combined efforts of both the Streets Division and Parks Division Maintenance Crews.  A copy of our Frequently Asked Questions regarding Snow and it's removal is found here.

Streets Division workers actively support a number of signature community events to include: Hayden Memorial Day Ceremony, Hayden Days, the Hayden Sprint Triathlon, Hayden Veteran’s Day Parade & Ceremony and the Hayden Lights Holiday Celebration.
