Program Updates:

RECREATION & COMMUNITY EVENTS PROGRAMS AND EVENTS UPDATE
4/7/20

Following the unanimous decision of the Idaho State School Board of Education to “soft close” schools until the end of the school year, the following changes to programs are being taken:

  • Youth Volleyball, and Women’s Basketball seasons are being canceled, as schools are unavailable during the dates these leagues would run. Refunds or credits will be given. Please email jarrotta@cityofhaydenid.us to let us know which you prefer.
  • Youth Soccer continues to be postponed, and we are hopeful that this program will still be conducted in May-June or June-July. Of course, this will be determined by any further mandated COVID-19 protocols; so there is still a possibility of cancellation. The Department will continue to monitor the situation closely, reassess as necessary and notify participants right away of any decisions made.
  • The Hayden Kite Festival is canceled and won’t be conducted this year, but we’ll see you in April 2021!
  • To do our part to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, all City of Hayden playgrounds have been closed. Parks and trails remain open.
  • While you shelter in place, you can find links to some fun, virtual activities and tours by clicking on the link below.

Due to the recommendations to take precautions to help keep our community safe, the following actions are being taken:

  • All City of Hayden special/community events through April have been canceled.
  • City playgrounds are temporarily closed while the Parks themselves will remain open.  You are encouraged to maintain social distancing and be mindful of Governor Little's order asking Idahoans to minimize travel and trips outside the home.
  • Youth Volleyball, Youth Soccer and Women’s Basketball seasons have been postponed with the possibility of cancellation. The Department will continue to monitor the situation, reassess this update towards the end of April and notify participants right away of any decisions made.
  • All special interest classes (adult dance, gardening, group fitness, etc.) have been canceled through April.
  • The 1st Annual Women’s 4’s “Block Party” Volleyball Tournament on April 19 has been canceled.
  • If your child is in dance or gymnastics classes, please contact Technique Gymnastics at 208-772-0179 or Alta Dance Academy at (208) 718-2582 for updated class information.
  • If programs are canceled, credits will be issued at that time. If participants would like to request a refund, please email jarrotta@cityofhaydenid.us or call 208-209-1080.

Again, thank you for your understanding and patience, as we navigate this unprecedented situation.

RECREATION PROGRAMS UPDATE REGARDING COVID-19 - 3/13/20

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION THOROUGHLY AND CHECK BACK REGULARLY FOR UPDATES.

  • The Coeur d’Alene School District has suspended all outside groups from using its gyms and facilities, which means the remainder of the youth basketball season has been canceled, so there will be no practices or games. Since most the season has been played, no refunds will be issued.
  • Youth Volleyball and Soccer Parent/Coaches Meetings have been canceled. Information (rosters, game schedules, etc.) for both programs will be posted on our website.  Parents and coaches will be notified by email when those are available.
  • Youth Volleyball – The start date has been postponed until after Spring Break. We will continue to monitor the situation and inform parents and coaches of any new start dates or cancellations by email.
  • Youth Soccer – At this time the start date remains April 11. We will continue to monitor and keep parents informed of postponements or cancellations by email.
  • Women’s Basketball – Registrations will continue to be taken, and at this time the start date remains early-mid April. We will continue to monitor and inform participants of any changes by email.
  • Open Gym Volleyball, Adult Dance, and Pickleball are suspended until further notice.
  • If youth sports programs are canceled, refunds will be issued at that time. We are hopeful that the measures being taken to prevent the spread of this virus will allow us to postpone and still be able to conduct our programs at later times.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility, as we navigate this unprecedented situation.
