Brett Boyer serves the community of Hayden as the City Administrator working for the Mayor and City Council managing the day to day operations of the City. He serves on the Jobs Plus board and represents the City in various community activities and projects. He co-chaired the Americas Best Communities Contest, an economic development contest that the area had some success with.
Brett comes to Hayden after serving the City of Rathdrum for more than nine years as City Administrator, before that he served as the Town Manager in Bayfield, Colorado. He has an undergraduate degree in Public Policy from Brigham Young University, a MPA from the Romney Institute of Public Management at Brigham Young University and a JD from Mississippi College School of Law. Brett and his wife Katrina have five kids, two sons and three daughters, and he enjoys camping, boating, backpacking, skiing, basketball, and travel (not on the court).
His philosophy on service in City Government is to provide quality municipal services while being careful stewards of the funds and resources that we are given. To have the best customer service, as service is what we provide to the community and to also be open, honest and inclusive of the public in decisions and processes. He is looking forward to working together to make the City of Hayden a great place to live and play.

Suzanne Cano - Community Services Director

Suzanne graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in recreation and a minor in business. While attending the University of Idaho, she served as the Idaho Recreation & Parks Association (IRPA) Student Representative, won the IRPA Outstanding Student Undergraduate award, and has since served as an IRPA committee and board member. She has worked, coached, and volunteered in the field of recreation for more than 20 years.

Alan Soderling - Public Works Director

Alan joined the City in June 2016. His 20 + years with JUB equipped him with a broad background of experience. Alan graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering and is registered with the State of Idaho as a Professional Engineer.
Alan is a lifelong resident of North Idaho. He is excited to guide and assist the City as it grows and develops. In his spare time Alan likes to enjoy all that the Northwest has to offer.

Wade Holecek - Superintendent of Operations, Public Works

Over the years, Wade and his team have also been involved in helping to build and maintain more parks in Hayden. If you ask him what he has enjoyed most about his role with the City, he will tell you that it is all of the opportunities he has had to grow with Hayden and the fun he has had meeting lots of different people.

Donna Phillips - Community and Economic Development Director
Sandee Rudy - Treasurer/Finance Director
Sandee Rudy has worked for the City of Hayden since 2007 and in June of 2017 was appointed as the City Treasurer. With more than 30 years of professional experience, she has a strong background in financial management, accounting, computers and customer service. She is passionate about her obligation to be a careful steward of the City of Hayden’s funds.
Sandee moved to Hayden in 2005 and fell in love with all North Idaho has to offer. She is an avid trail runner and enjoys spending time in the outdoors: hiking, running, biking or swimming. She and her husband Scott have four children (two sons and two daughters) and three (soon to be five!) grandchildren.

Abbi Sanchez- City Clerk
Abbi Sanchezs started her career with the City of Hayden in 2011, and has had the pleasure of working in a variety of roles. Those roles include the City Administrator’s Administrative Assistant, Account Technician in Finance, and Deputy City Clerk. In May 2016 Abbi was appointed as the City Clerk. With many years of customer service experience as well as a background in records management, her passion for people and her work are fulfilled and exercised daily.
As the City Clerk for the City of Hayden Abbi manages the city’s records, clerks the council meetings, serves as the Election Official for the City, oversees the clerical support to commissions, and provides administrative support to the Mayor, City Council and City Administrator.
A longtime resident of this area Abbi has enjoyed experiencing all of what north Idaho has to offer.

Shawn Langenderfer - Human Resources
In June 2016, Shawn joined the City of Hayden in the Human Resources Department. Shawn brings with her over 15 years of experience in Human Resources and has been a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources since 2013. Shawn is excited to support the staff at the City in making Hayden a great place to live and play. She believes strongly in providing a positive work environment that supports the staff, and allows them to be at their best, when providing services to the citizens of Hayden.
Shawn moved to Kootenai County from Michigan over 20 years ago and can’t imagine living anywhere else. She lives here with her husband Bill and their four kids. Her family is very active in sports and Shawn can be seen cheering in the stands at basketball, volleyball, baseball and track events. In her free time Shawn enjoys kayaking, hiking, camping and exploring all the wonders that the Pacific Northwest offers.
