The Public Safety Committee meets the first Tuesday of every month at 1:00 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
The Public Safety Commission was created by the City Council with Ordinance 649
The purpose of the commission is:
- To act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in matters pertaining to public safety including law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, and other areas wherein the matter of public safety may be of concern; specifically, review statistic data and other information concerning public safety;
- Recommend policies and procedures with respect to the foregoing for approval by the City Council;
- Perform such other tasks that may be expressly requested of by the City Council.

page for an application. All commission members serve 3 year terms, with the exception of the first term as set forth by Council and the Mayor. Vacancies on the commission occurring other than by expiration of the term shall be filled by the mayor with the consent of the City Council for the remainder of the unexpired term. Commission members may be reappointed to serve additional terms.
