Annual Hayden Kite Festival: Saturday, April 21, 12:00-2:30 p.m., Broadmoore Park. Registration runs from 12:00-1:30 p.m. with kite flying from 12:00-2:00 pm. Awards will be announced @ 2:15 p.m. and include Best Flyer, Crash & Burn and much more. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the day with your family! Arbor Day: Thursday, April 26, 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., McIntire Family Park. Hayden Schools are invited to participate in this program as part of their curriculum. 20+ Stations teach kids about weather, water, fire, trees, forests, and much more.

Memorial Day Ceremonies: Monday, May 28, 9:30 a.m., Honeysuckle Beach for Wreath Laying Ceremony and/or 11:00 a.m. McIntire Family Park Stage, behind Hayden City Hall. Hayden “Movie-in-the Park” Summer Kick-Off: Thursday, June 21, 8:45 p.m. (Dusk), McIntire Family Park. The Hayden summer event series will kick off with its first annual family-fun movie night! Movie TBA. Bring the family and enjoy a movie under the stars. The movie begins at 8:45 p.m./dusk. This is a free event for the public and concessions will be available. Hayden Bike Rodeo: Tuesday, June 26, 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Hayden Community Library. The annual bike rodeo for ages 5-12 years includes an obstacle course, helmet testing, and bike tune-up. Conducted by the Hayden Parks, Recreation & Community Forestry Commission in cooperation with the Hayden Community Library.

Hayden Summer Concert Series, June 28-August 16, 6:00-8:30 p.m., McIntire Family Park. Free to the public! 7th Annual Hayden Triathlon: Saturday, July 14, Honeysuckle Beach. City of Hayden is proud to support the 2018 Hayden Triathlon. This is a SPRINT triathlon: 0.5-Mile Swim, 12-Mile Bike, 3.1-Mile Run. USAT Sanctioned. The race venue features breathtaking scenery with a challenging but friendly course. We invite you to race and unwind on the majestic Hayden Lake afterward. Hayden Days: Friday, July 27 & Saturday, July 28, McIntire Family Park. Beginning on Friday at 2:00 p.m., the community kicks off its festivities with live music, dancing, food and craft vendors, and the Hayden Sr. Center Beer Garden. Saturday features NLFD Pancake Breakfast @ 7:00 a.m. @ the Northern Lakes Fire Station and The Hayden Days Parade @ 10:00 a.m. along Government Way. Princess Pedalfest: Saturday, August 4, 7:30 a.m.-60 miles, 8:00 a.m.-45 miles, 9:00 a.m.-25 miles, Croffoot Park. A women’s-only, non-competitive bike ride, providing three different distances and challenges to promote the opportunity for a broad range of women cyclists. National Night Out: Tuesday, August 7, 4:00-8:00 p.m., McIntire Family Park. Hosted by the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office and Target. Help your community become safer and decrease crime by attending the Annual Night Out. Enjoy entertainment, food and drinks, giveaways for the kids and crime prevention/personal safety information. Patriot Day: Tuesday, September 11, 8:30 a.m., McIntire Family Park Stage behind Hayden City Hall. Observed as the National Day of Service and Remembrance, occurs on September 11 of each year in memory of the people killed in the 2001 September 11 attacks.

Howl-O-Ween Doggie Dash (walk/run): Sunday, October 21, 12:00 p.m. Check-in, 1:00 p.m.-Dash Starts, Pawfoot Park (inside Croffoot Park). All ages welcome! Cost is $30-Family/$15-Individual/10 & Under-Free. Join us for the 2nd Annual Howl-O-Ween Doggie Dash! Three options for your dash: “mummy” (1/4 mile), “mad” (1/2 mile) or “monster” (1 mile). First 75 registrants receive a “doggie” bag! Trick or Treat along the course, costume contests & give-a-ways! It will be spooktacular for the whole family!! Annual Hayden Lights Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony: Saturday, December 1, 5:00 p.m., McIntire Family Park. The parade begins at Hayden Avenue and proceeds south along Government Way to Honeysuckle Avenue. The tree lighting ceremony immediately follows the parade in McIntire Family Park, 8930 N. Government Way. Atlas Elementary and Hayden Meadows School Choruses sing, followed by a visit from Santa.
